WHAT IS HYROX P'F"T?

The Hyrox Physical Fitness Test (P’F”T) has been specifically designed to give you the perfect introduction to HYROX and measure where your HYROX fitness level is at currently.

It will help you determine which division to enter into for your very first HYROX, or help inform you of how to better pace your next HYROX race! Don’t worry, like all of HYROX, the P'F"T is for Every Body.

The HYROX P'F"T is a great benchmark workout that can be used to check cardio/endurance status.

What is the HYROX P'F"T FORMAT?

A black and white poster with a race format on it.

The HYROX Physical Fitness Test (P'F”T) is a physical fitness test designed to measure your HYROX fitness level and provide a perfect introduction to the global fitness race, HYROX.

The test is a mini HYROX event that includes:

  • 1. Run

    1000m

A 1000-meter run, also known as a 1-kilometer run or 1K run, is performed on a measured route outdoors (rain or shine) OR can also be performed on a treadmill with a 2% incline.

  • 2. Burpee Broad Jump

    50

This involves participants performing a burpee followed by a broad jump, challenging their power and agility. Participants must jump over two lines 90cm/35 inches apart.

  • 3. Stationary Lunge

    100

Participants perform stationary lunges, which challenge leg strength and balance. A stationary lunge (also known as a split squat), is a lower-body exercise that strengthens glutes, hamstrings, quads, hips, and calves.  Participants start with two feet behind the line and alternate legs.

  • 4. Rowing

    1000m

Using a rowing machine, participants target both their upper and lower body, demanding coordination and stamina.

  • 5. Hand Release (HR) Pushup

    30

The hand release (HR) pushup is a variation of the pushup that involves lifting the hands off the ground at the bottom of the movement.

Participants start with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, feet together or slightly apart, and a tight core. They then lower their body until their chest touches the ground, quickly extend their arms out to the sides, and return their hands to the starting position. Finishing the repetition by pushing their body back up as a unit, keeping their elbows fully extended at the top.

  • 8. Wall Balls

    100

Participants perform squats using a medicine ball and then throw the ball to hit a target on a wall.
